Reading FC Women proudly supported Breast Cancer Now on Sunday 19th of April on our dedicated Community Day.
Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, formed by merging Breast Cancer Campaign, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and Breast Cancer Care. It provides research-backed support services and information for those affected by breast cancer, aiming for everyone diagnosed to live and live well by 2050.
We spoke with Jade Bolton, Breast Cancer Now’s Senior Community Fundraiser on what our support means to the charity.

Why is it important to Breast Cancer Now that Reading FC Women are using their
Community Day to support the charity?
We want to say a huge thank you to the Reading FC Women, your staff, players, fans and
wider community for choosing to support Breast Cancer Now on your Community Day.
We’re incredibly grateful for your support.
Football clubs sit at the heart of their communities, bringing together fans, families and
supporters of all ages. By using your platform, Reading FC Women are helping raise vital
awareness of breast cancer and the support available for those affected.
Breast cancer is far from a done deal. It’s still a disease that takes and rips apart far too
many lives.
1 in 7 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Across the nation, a
woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 9 minutes and a man every day. The
disease is the biggest killer of working-age women in the country and breast cancer
takes a devastating emotional toll on the people affected by it.
Support from clubs like Reading FC Women brings us closer to our bold vision that by
2050, everyone with breast cancer will live and live well. We can’t do it on our own. But
together, we can make change happen. Now.

How can the Reading FC Women community, fans and squad alike support Breast
Cancer Now beyond the dedicated Community Day?
Support doesn’t have to stop at Community Day. There are so many ways for Reading FC
Women’s players, fans and wider community to get involved and make a difference all
year round.
Whether it’s taking on a fundraising challenge, hosting a bake sale, organising a non-
uniform day, or even something bigger like a head shave or silent auction – every effort, big or small, helps power our work.
You can also support Breast Cancer Now by backing our campaigns, signing petitions
and raising your voice to help drive change, including sharing our work with your local
MP.
We’re the UK’s leading breast cancer charity, combining the power of science and
support to change breast cancer. Every action taken helps us continue our vital work
and brings us closer to a future where everyone with breast cancer lives and lives well.
Every bit of support matters.
Together, we are Breast Cancer Now until we’re breast cancer never.
