    Aleasha Lunn signs for the Royals!

    Reading FC Women are pleased to announce the signing of Aleasha Lunn, who joins the Royals ahead of the 2025/26 season.

    We welcome the midfielder having previously been under Ed’s guidance at Maidenhead United after signing for the Magpies in the 2023/24 season.

    “I am very greatful to be a Royal as it is my home club! The ambition going forwards is very exciting and I am happy to be under the management of Ed & Max once again. I personally can’t wait to be back out playing after being out on an injury the past season. Hopefully I can be back scoring goals and celebrating the small wins with the team! Up the Ding!” – Aleasha Lunn

    Aleasha is a former Oxford United player, with a corner kick to marvel over, having made her first team debut for the O’s in December 2021. Her National League experience will be of real value to the Royals.

    We are delighted to confirm we have been accepted into the Adobe Women’s FA Cup for the 2025/26 season. As a Tier 5 side, we will enter the competition from the Second Round Qualifying.

    Sarah Thompson signs for the Royals!

    Reading FC Women are pleased to announce the signing of Sarah Thompson, who joins the Royals ahead of the 2025/26 season.

    We welcome the defender having previously been under Ed’s guidance at Maidenhead United, she captained the side to their Berks & Bucks Senior Cup win in March 2025.

    “I’m buzzing to be returning to my childhood club, one that I have supported since I was a young girl and was fortunate enough to play for in my teens. The team is gelling well together over pre season and I can’t wait for the league to get started. Up The Ding!” – Sarah Thompson

    Sarah was a stalwart at Maidenhead United, having joined them in 2019. She’s no stranger to the Royals however, having played in the Academy from 2011 to 2014 before heading off to university and returning back to Berkshire where she spent the 2018/19 season with Woodley United.

    Bethan Poole signs for the Royals!

    Reading FC Women are pleased to announce the signing of Bethan Poole, who joins the Royals ahead of the 2025/26 season.

    We welcome the left-back having previously been under Ed’s guidance at Maidenhead United, initially in the development squad before making her first team debut off the bench in a 5-0 victory over Keynsham Town in the 2024/25 season.

    “I can’t wait to start at Reading where the ambition is endless. Having such a knowledgeable group of coaches and supportive teammates helps to put into perspective the exciting future for the club! The hard work starts now!” – Ava Broke-Smith

    Ava’s footballing endeavours began in Somerset where she played on a boys’ team in Bishops Lydeard before moving over to the girls side at the club. She then joined Exeter City before switching Somerset for Berkshire and linking up with Reading’s Development squad. She then headed for M

  • Who will Reading Women play against in the 2025/26 season?

    Who will Reading Women play against in the 2025/26 season?

    The Football Association has confirmed the club allocations for the 2025/26 season. Reading will once again compete in the Premier Division of the Southern Region Women’s Football League (SRWFL).

    The following clubs will compete in the division this season:

    AFC Porchester

    Beaconsfield Town (promoted from SRWFL Division One North)

    Fleet Town (promoted from SRWFL Division One South)

    Badshot Lea

    Oxford City

    Reading

    Selsey

    Sholing

    Southampton Women (relegated from FAWNL Division One South West)

    Winchester City Flyers

    Woodley United

    Wycombe Wanderers

    The SRWFL Premier Division sits at Tier 5 of the seven tier women’s football pyramid, with seven other Regional Leagues – Eastern, London & South East, South West, West Midlands, East Midlands, North East and North West making up the constitution. The league itself was established in 1990. Promotion to Tier 4 would see a club enter into the FAWNL Division One South West where fellow Berkshire sides Ascot United and Maidenhead United play, relegation would result in a drop down to the SRWFL Premier Division North or South at Tier 6.
